Takis put up Takis Shelter in Greece in 2013. The first dog he took care of was an injured stray he found in the rubbish. And soon enough, he had forty animals under his care.
It was pretty easy to feed the animals at first. But eventually, Takis ran out of funds, so he reached out to the public and asked for donations. While it was tough, he continued his work, and Bambi was one of his most recent rescues.
Takis found Bambi a few miles away from town. He tried to befriend her, but the poor pup was so scared. She kept a safe distance and refused to let the rescuer near her.
Thirty minutes quickly passed by, but Takis failed to make any progress. Bambi was still aloof, and she kept running away every time he comes close. He didn’t want to leave her, but he had no other choice but to leave.
The following morning, Takis came back to where he spotted Bambi. He brought a trap, which he intended to use to catch the dog. But little did he know that it wasn’t what he needed.
Bambi starved, so Takis went back to his car and grabbed his packed lunch. He offered his omelet to the dog, and she gladly accepted it. After a short while, he found the perfect opportunity and caught her.
Takis placed Bambi in a travel crate before heading back to the shelter. Throughout their drive, he noticed she still felt frightened. So once they got home, he prepped some more food for the dog.
Bambi stuck her tail in between her legs. She’s so fearful. But once she finished her food bowl, she started to wag her tail, transformed into a happy pup right away.
Bambi spent the next couple of months recovering. She gained weight and made a lot of new friends in the shelter. And today, she hopes to find a forever home she can call her home.
